The Abu Dhabi Education Council announced that the ID card is mandatory for registering new students in Abu Dhabi schools for the coming academic year 2012-2013.
The council requested parents to provide the ID card among the documents necessary for registering their children, whether nationals or residents, in all academic stages between kindergartens and grade 12.
The Abu Dhabi Education Council’s initiative came as part of the continuous government and corporate support for the Emirates Identity Authority for completing the population register and ID card project, considering that the majority of government organizations and authorities are currently adopting the ID card as an official and exclusive document for transactions.
Earlier, the Emirates Identity Authority announced that the grace period for registering national and resident children (below 15 years) would end on October 1, 2012 all over the UAE.
