ICA reviews the experiences of HSI Office in Washington

In the context of achieving the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship strategy, which aims at providing the best administrative services, a delegation from ICA, led by H.E. Major General Saeed Rakan Al Rashidi, Director General of Foreigners Affairs and Ports, visited Customs and Border Protection Department and Criminal Investigations Department at the Office of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in Washington, USA. This visit aimed at reviewing the best practices and experiences in the field of deportation and repatriation procedures and prosecution of violators and intruders.

Mr. Patrick Lechleitner, Assistant Director of the Department of National Security Investigations, welcomed the delegation. Afterward, the delegation members listened to a detailed explanation by the officials of some competent authorities on the nature of the Department’s work. They also reviewed the most important experiences, as well as their extent of success and positive impacts on the practical level in the USA. Then they met Mr. William Buff, Attaché at the US Embassy in UAE. During this meeting, parties discussed and shared experiences and means of enhancing cooperation and doubling efforts in such a field. At the end of the visit, Al Rashidi exchanged commemorative shields of both sides and expressed the intention to arrange a field visit to the border checkpoint with Mexico.
