The Emirates Identity Authority held a training workshop titled “Guiding Leader” in the presence of H.E. Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al Khouri, Emirates ID Director General, H.E. Hatem Al Hamli, Executive Director for Financial Affairs and Acting Executive Director for Administrative Affairs and Relations, H.E. Yousef Al Bulooshi, Chief Executive Officer of Registration Centers, H.E. Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Executive Director of Population Register, and a large number of directors of departments and centers.
The training workshop, presented by Dr. Ayoub Al Ayoubi, comprised a number of scientific themes including change leadership and management, change industry and leadership, change expectation and leadership’s helping tools.
The lecturer talked about the theme of change leadership and management by concentrating on change industry and strategic planning to bring about the desired change at the overall level of the emirates Identity Authority or the partial level of its sections and departments in addition to the sub-objectives desired to be achieved.
He stressed the importance of the leader’s clear vision and ability to extrapolate the future of the authority, organization or entity he is leading, whether such extrapolation is positive or negative.
The lecturer focused on the role played by leading personalities in guiding the authority or organization to success and on the degree of its participation to the change industry or change expectation, noting that the leader’s role in leading the organization appears in the stage of shifting from one system to another.
He clarified that the most prominent characteristics of leading personalities are their ability to deal with the change resistance, their capability of dealing with the future and their possession of the skills of affecting and motivating others.
The lecturer stated that the most important helping tools of a leadership are delegation of authorities, authority enablement and time management, which all give a leader a great opportunity to devote his time to leadership instead of busying himself in management and support the management by preparing the second row of leaders.
The workshop focused on the practical more than the theoretical aspects through using several training tools simultaneously. It also comprised a number of dialogue-based sessions and discussions.
