During its regular meeting, the Higher Management Committee at the Emirates Identity Authority has approved the general framework of the social networking strategy, which will be the major impetus of the Emirates Identity Authority’s media performance as well as the instrument of effective communication with its target audience and the means of expressing its vision and mission.

The meeting was held under the chairmanship of H.E. Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al Khouri, Emirates ID Director General, and was attended by the executive directors and a number of managers. During the meeting, the committee recommended that (media ambassadors) be appointed at all the Emirates Identity Authority-affiliated registration centers and be qualified and trained in how to communicate with the mass media and talk to media personalities about the operating matters related to their centers.

The recommendation comes as part of the Emirates Identity Authority’s keenness on bolstering and consolidating the concept of transparency with the aim of extending bridges of continuous communication with media organizations as well as answering their inquiries and providing the information they need during the field press coverage made by their reporters at registration centers.

Al Khouri stressed the necessity for making a clear work plan of the social networking strategy with a specific output timeline for submission to the Higher Management Committee in the coming meetings, taking into consideration the Emirates Identity Authority’s peculiarity, mission, vision and strategic objectives.

Meanwhile, Al Khouri called on all executive directors, managers, directors of registration centers and supervisors to closely track performance with the aim of realizing the achievements made in the Emirates Identity Authority’s departments, centers and sections while redressing and trying to avoid weaknesses and rectifying execution failures to ensure optimum implementation of the Emirates Identity Authority’s initiatives and strategic objectives.

While the Higher Management Committee was listening to the presentation made by the Strategy Backup Office at the Emirates Identity Authority, Al Khouri clarified that performance indicators are the responsibility of the Emirates Identity Authority’s executive directors and managers, who are responsible for measuring, elucidating and explaining them to the employees working in the different departments and centers with the aim of increasing awareness among them as regards the nature of work at the Emirates Identity Authority and their role in making a success of its initiatives and projects.

During its meeting, part of which was held as per the Japanese style where the participants stand around the meeting table, the Higher Management Committee called on all executive directors to present the performance indicators of their respective departments once by the end of every month to examine the achievements in line with the demands of the esteemed Cabinet Office in this connection.

The Higher Management Committee also listened to the presentation made by the Population Register Department as regards the proposal for taking the procedures for registering, renewing/replacing and printing ID cards at the Emirates Identity Authority-affiliated registration centers with the aim of facilitating and simplifying procedures and improving the standard of services provided to customers.

Referring to the large number of employees working in the Emirates Identity Authority, Al Khouri clarified that solving problems or dealing with the challenges faced by the Emirates Identity Authority should not be limited to a certain number of employees and the Emirates Identity Authority should invest all the energies of its employees and benefit from their minds.

Al Khouri recommended that working teams of 100 employees each should be formed at the Emirates Identity Authority, provided that the Higher Management Committee should offer some ideas or proposals to these groups, which would in turn analyze them and submit recommendations in this connection. He also called on the participants to provide all financial capabilities to these groups and propose an incentives system to those with creative ideas.

As far as assessment of the employees’ performance is concerned, the Higher Management Committee stressed the necessity of keeping away from the descriptive and capricious evaluation of employees and instructed that workshops be held for the Emirates Identity Authority’s employees through which the evaluation methodologies would be explained and the criteria to be adopted by the Emirates Identity Authority during the employee evaluation process would be clarified, stressing the necessity for the new criteria to be systematic, clear and updated.
