General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai launched today the pilot phase of the smart tunnel project – the first of its kind in the world – at Dubai International Airport terminal 3 for departures in business and first-class.
H.E Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, GDRFA-Dubai Director-General, said in a press release, that the Directorate has adopted (AI) in such tunnel to includes all database of the passengers, stressing that the tunnel processes such data in an accurate manner depending on the automatic learning technologies to ease and accelerate the passing journey through the passport area at Dubai Airport without the need to any travel documents such as passports, ID cards, and other documents or the boarding pass as usual while using smart gates.
He added that a passenger should bring his passport and verify its validity for more than 6 months before departure time within enough period as he will use it in the country to which he will leave.
He confirmed that the project is part of the results of “Dubai Future Accelerators” launched by H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, UAE Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai on the provision of the latest high-quality technologies.
