GDRFA – Dubai Receives Certificate of Attestation for “Integrating Digital Identity to Sign Electronic Contracts” Project

The First Government Entity in Dubai

The General Directorate for Residency and Foreigners Affairs- Dubai has made an unprecedented achievement by obtaining a certificate of attestation from Tejari Co for the success of the project of “Integrating Digital Identity to Sign Electronic Contracts”. Thus, Dubai GDRFA became the first government entity to be integrated with the digital identity to sign electronic contracts on the electronic supply platform approved by the Dubai Smart Government.

His Excellency Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General, GDRFA Dubai, received the certificate from Hani Msabah, Vice President of Sales in the Middle East, and Africa, in the presence of Brigadier General Dr. Ali Ajif Al Zaabi, Acting Assistant Director for Human and Financial Resources and Legal Advisor at GDRFA Dubai, and Khaled Abdul Karim Al Bulokki, Assistant Director for Financial Resources and Services. Present also at the event were Lt. Col. Saeed Al Marri, Director of Contracts and Procurement Department, Captain Dr. Reem Abdel Aziz, Deputy Director of Contracts and Procurement Department, and Amira Abdul Karim, unit head of Contracts.

His Excellency Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General, GDRFA Dubai, said: “We are pleased with this achievement, which comes as a new addition to a series of GDRFA Dubai achievements as a result of the continuous efforts to promote the services delivery aiming at enhancing the quality of life and achieving happiness for community members”. He added that making a linkage with the digital identity will contribute to the adoption and documentation of contracts digitally and ease access to the services provided by GDRFA Dubai in a safe and smooth manner.

Lieutenant-General Al Marri indicated that GDRFA Dubai is keen to be at the forefront of government entities in adopting the latest smart solutions in terms of procedures and operations, as part of strengthening the digital transformation system witnessed by the United Arab Emirates. These efforts come within the GDRFA Dubai efforts to achieve the Dubai Paperless Strategy 2021, through linking operations between various entities and sectors in the country, in order to promote the process of sustainable development journey in the UAE in general and in the Emirate of Dubai in particular.

For his part, Brigadier General Dr. Ali Ajif Al Zaabi, Acting Assistant Director General of the Human and Financial Resources Sector and Legal Adviser at GDRFA, said that the GDRFA continues its efforts to optimize the use of available resources by developing service delivery channels and increasing the efficiency of procedures that effectively contribute to facilitating the financial purchase and procedure processes for suppliers. He pointed out that this project will open wide horizons for new partnerships with private sectors and provide a distinct digital experience that meets their needs.
