Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (FAIC) organizes a workshop for its employees titled “Security Awareness” to educate and make them aware of the importance of maintaining the confidentiality of information and data and protecting their assets from unauthorized use.
The workshop; organized by FAIC’s Information Security Office, which included all its staff at its headquarters, contained a detailed explanation on the classification of information, concepts and contents of information security and obstacles faced by entities in such field such as the insufficient awareness of importance of information security among employees and the limited comprehension of the necessity of taking all actions which guarantee the prevention of any opportunity for third parties to access to the information in possession of the employees in its various forms, whether they are written, printed or stored in electronic devices.
The workshop; presented by Dr. Khaled Al Awadi, Director of Information Security and the female employees, Maitha Al Ketbi, Salma Al Mashgari and Laila Hamed, contained an explanation of electronic incidents, electronic phishing and actions taken to avoid them. They also stressed on the importance of following the instructions and laws, which organize the use of these information, by the employees, and knowing how to deal with them in a secure manner and maintaining its confidentiality, the matter which protect the Authority from any attempts of electronic penetration.
