“FAIC” and “Ministry of Community Development” sign an agreement for e-connectivity and strengthening the national policy of People of determination

FAIC and Ministry of Community Developmenthas signed an agreement for e-connectivity, data and information exchange that serves the nature of their work, make them benefit from the Emirates ID card and adopt it as a main source in supporting the electronic and smart services provided by both authorities.

The agreement supports strengthening the national policy of the people of determination “social protection and family empowerment” through the provision of appropriate social security policies to their needs through the adoption of a unified classification in the State, harmonization of local legislation and federal law with the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, Linking them to the health, educational service etc. of services provided to them, and linking them to the Emirates ID and providing suitable housing for them.

The agreement, signed by FAIC’s Director General, Dr. Saeed Abdullah bin Mutlaq Al Ghafli and Under Secretary of Ministry of Community Development, Ms. Sanaa Suhail, includes the exchange of data of civil affairs events of persons registered in the Population Register System, who have Emirates ID and all amendments from its main sources to ensure the highest levels of accuracy in such data and provide them in a timely manner to be handled in a manner that serves the public interest and the interest of the two authorities.

The civil affairs events are the elements of the individual’s civil status, which relate to his or her life updates, including the date and place of birth, marriage, divorce, nationality, residence, death, religion, academic certificate and employment status.

The agreement, which was signed on the margin of the two authorities’ participation in “GITEX Technology Week 2017” that held currently in Dubai, provided the coordination between the two authorities in implementation of the joint projects in order to ensure proper implementation and quickness of delivery, and ensure the accuracy, safety and confidentiality of data transfer during the exchange process with the necessity to save it accurately so as to contribute to the realization of common interests in the framework of the supreme interest of the State as well as the exchange of information and studies related to their respective responsibilities in field of work of each authority.

According to the agreement, FAIC provides to the Ministry with the necessary infrastructure for the success of electronic connectivity that support the acquisition and exchange of data with the database of the Population Register Safely. In addition to providing the necessary technical support regarding the use of court-related connectivity services and raising awareness of community members on the importance of the use of the Emirates ID and the means of securing it.

The agreement stipulates that the Ministry shall exclusively rely exclusively on the Emirates ID and ID number as a prerequisite for registering civil affairs events, and shall provide the necessary guides and instructions for its visitors to present the Emirates ID as a basic document of the registration process and to take all necessary measures in terms of establishing laws and regulations that obligate its employees not to accept any transaction without the Emirates ID card and using the e-reader of the Emirates ID card in the dat a entry process to avoid entering a wrong ID number.

 

HE Dr. Saeed Abdullah bin Mutlaq Al Ghafli, Director General of FAIC, stressed FAIC’s keenness to support the disabled and participate in various activities aimed at serving them. FAIC seeks to integrate them into society to contribute to the nation’s building and service, following the approach of the wise leadership, which gives this group of society members the utmost attention and care. It is keen to provide all the possibilities that facilitate their lives and enable them to participate in the good march of our state.

Dr. Al-Ghafli said that FAIC supports all government initiatives aimed at benefiting from the Emirates ID card in developing the services it provides to its customers, diversifying the options through which they can obtain it, and enabling the institutions to increase the level of efficiency and effectiveness in their work mechanisms by shortening the time and effort required to complete their transactions.

Dr. Al-Ghafli said that this agreement supports the Authority’s efforts to activate and expand the use of Emirates ID cards in various sectors in the state and rely on them as a main reference for the identification and authentication of personal identity, pointing to the Emirates ID’s capabilities of service and technology contributing in supporting electronic and smart services supported by the advanced infrastructure provided by FAIC to protect transactions including the digital Verification Gateway (VG).

On her part, Sanaa Suhail, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Community Development said that the signing of this agreement comes in line with the directives of the State government in the field of services development and integration among government entities and to achieve the Ministry’s plan to expand areas of joint cooperation to facilitate services provided to the people of determination.

She added that the ministry will work to benefit from the agreement and pointed out that the agreement will allow the ministry to update the register data of the people of determination to achieve integration of services and provide their data easily and also rely on the Emirates ID card to register and update their data.
