The Higher Management Committee at the Emirates Identity Authority has announced its intention to provide e-form to the companies whose employees are in excess of 500 in the short coming period.

The committee decided to request Emaratech, which is in charge of managing the ID card e-form, to approach the Ministry of Labor about instructing private companies to obtain the ID card e-form through Emaratech. This would make it easy for the employees of these companies to register in ID card or renew their expired cards at their worksites or domiciles easily and smoothly, the committee said.

The committee also decided to add a box in the e-form in which the expiry date of the e-form is given.

This was announced during the 49th regular meeting of the committee, which was held at the Emirates ID headquarters in Abu Dhabi today. The meeting was chaired by H.E. Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al Khouri, Emirates ID Director General, and was attended by the executive directors and a number of departmental directors.

Meanwhile, the committee affirmed that verifying and printing ID cards currently takes no longer than 5 working days and that the Emirates Identity Authority has no longer any card, the date of issuance of which is more than 5 days. The committee stressed the necessity for every customer whose ID card is late for more than a month to contact the Emirates ID to inquire about his/her card.

The committee was briefed on how ID cards are actually delivered across the UAE as 70 per cent of customers currently receive their cards via Emirates Post boxes compared to 30 per cent of customers who prefer to receive their cards via the post offices.

The committee discussed the issue of rendering the ID card a condition for finalizing traffic transactions all over the UAE.

During the meeting, Al Khouri called for abandoning the traditional style of work and using administrative smartness in conducting business, particularly in the upcoming period, which is critical and significant for carrying on the successful implementation of the Emirates Identity Authority’s strategy.

He stressed the necessity for the information security policy to be strictly implemented and for the employee, who proves to have leaked information from the population register database to anybody or any entity without the knowledge of the Higher Management at the Emirates ID, to be held accountable.

The committee also called the competent department at the Emirates Identity Authority to speed up placing the rollups and guiding signs that show the location of Emirates ID service points to enable customers to have easy access to them.
