During the meeting, which took place in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Sheikh Mohammed spoke about the importance of developing government work and realizing the potential of the local workforce, so that the country may remain in its leading position.

Male and female citizens received a warm welcome from Sheikh Mohammed at the palace meeting, which saw the attendance of Dubai Deputy Ruler Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Presidential Affairs Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Mansour Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan. Sheikh Mohammed expressed his great pleasure on meeting the national youths, stressing that while the leadership and government are temporary, the country would remain forever. With this in mind Sheikh Mohammed urged citizens to work hard, as the UAE’s people will not accept anything less than first place.

His Highness advised the assembled youths not to look to ministers or their superiors for guidance, but to focus on the peoples’ needs. He added that they should extend a friendly welcome to clients and treat them with kindness as per Arab and Islamic traditions.

In further remarks Sheikh Mohammed said that he could perceive great ability and potential in his guests, before affirming that nothing is impossible and that all challenges are attainable.

Sheikh Mohammed reminded the youths about the campaign for national cohesion, launched by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to enhance and consolidate a sense of national identity amongst members of UAE society. He also reminded them about the president’s directives to bring development to all areas in the country, as no region is considered too remote and the country possesses all necessary resources and technology.

Moving on, Sheikh Mohammed described how the UAE, under the wise leadership of Sheikh Khalifa, had prospered in the midst of the global financial crisis. Having overcome these obstacles, Sheikh Mohammed announced that the government is now introducing new government programs and services, saying that he has complete confidence in the abilities of government personnel.

After noting the historical nature of today’s gathering, Sheikh Mohammed expressed his happiness with the attendance of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed, describing him as a tower of strength in his support of the country’s government.

Concluding the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed asserted that all citizens are equal regardless of their emirate of origin, and that Emiratis are one people unified under one flag.
