The Emirates Identity Authority participated in the first annual international congress – New Dimension of the Smart Planet in U-Era”, which concluded today Tuesday at the World Expo Center, Dalian, China.
The congress, which was organized by the Information Research Center of International Talent, China State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, saw the participation of around 150 presentations from the world’s decision-makers, specialists and researchers covering politics, economics, IT, banking and education as well as an elite group of academicians and experts representing a number of government and non-government organizations.
H.E. Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al Khouri, Emirates ID Director General, presented a working paper titled “Federal Digital ID” on the first day of the congress. The paper talked about the UAE’s experience in developing an infrastructure for the federal digital identity.
The working paper reviewed the components of the strategic plan of this project, which is regarded as the most prominent and significant among the chain of strategic projects that are being implemented by the Emirates Identity Authority across the UAE.
The paper also talked about the stages of execution of the project and how to integrate the digital ID applications with the UAE government services while concentrating on the most important lessons derived from the actual status of the stages of execution of the project.
The working paper said this experience is expected to revolutionize public services in the UAE and to support some key initiatives related to eGovernment and eCommerce in the UAE.
Over three days, the congress witnessed more than 80 sessions that dealt with the current hot topics and issues related to the Internet and ubiquitous network. It threw the light on some recent breakthrough stories of success as well as the progress achieved in more than 15 major topics that were discussed by the congress including exchange of information, best practices and the most important scientific researches related to the implementation of new technologies worldwide.
The UAE delegation participating in the congress included H.E. Eng. Nasser Bu Nimr Al Mazrouei, ICT Executive Director.
