The Emirates Identity Authority has affirmed that it has laid down the general frameworks of the strategy of electronic linkage with all UAE government organizations and has identified the methodology of its technological linkage with these organizations in the second half of this year.
The Emirates ID has also affirmed that it has completed the stage of field survey of all the infrastructures, which operate the population register systems and their supporting systems in these organizations, as part of a project for the structure of electronic linkage with the UAE organizations, which is being carried out by the Emirates Identity Authority.
Work is currently under way to complete the document of technical requirements related to the technological solutions and systems to be approved and applied in the second phase of the project, which is expected to commence in early March 2012, according to the project’s timeline, and to continue for 6-8 months, the Emirates Identity Authority said.
This was announced during the regular meeting held by the steering committee of the project for the structure of electronic linkage with UAE organizations at the Emirates Identity Authority’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi. During the meeting, the progress of work of the project and the phases completed so far were discussed.
H.E. Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al Khouri, Emirates ID Director General, who chaired the committee’s meeting yesterday, praised the progress achieved in the first phase of the project, which is regarded as one of the most significant strategic projects that are being carried out by the Emirates Identity Authority.
Al Khouri underlined the Emirates Identity Authority’s endeavor to use the latest electronic linkage systems and technologies between the Emirates Identity Authority and all UAE organizations.
The project of electronic linkage with the UAE organizations is aimed at developing a secure and integrated infrastructure that enables data to be instantly obtained for the purpose of supporting decision-making by instantly providing accurate and comprehensive statistical data about the UAE demography based on the Emirates Identity Authority’s population register system.
The Emirates Identity Authority pointed out that around 30 technical workshops were held with a number of entities concerned with the civil incidents that are added to the individual’s file at the population register’s database.
It is noteworthy that based on the strategic results of the project of electronic linkage with the UAE organizations, the Emirates Identity Authority is in the process of conducting an analytical study on what the general condition of the UAE is in terms of distribution of personal data sources (civil incidents) and the possibility of reformulating the mechanism of participation in these data and unifying their channels with the aim of upgrading government performance and eliminating the possibility for individuals’ records to be conflicted or repeated at the entity concerned with the same civil incident.
