Emirates ID launches e-form on its website on a test basis for UAE nationals

Thursday 29 December 2011

The Emirates Identity Authority today launched on its website the registration e-form on a test basis for UAE nationals.

The e-form is available for UAE nationals currently but would be available for residents within two months, the Emirates Identity Authority said.

The fees for filling out an e-form via the Emirates Identity Authority’s website are collected through the customer’s credit card, the Emirates Identity Authority said, adding that after opening an electronic account, the customer would be able to fill out an ID card form for himself/herself or for others using a username and a password. Every person is allowed to fill out only 20 forms per day in order to prevent the service from being abused for illegal commercial purposes, the Emirates Identity Authority said.

The Emirates Identity Authority pointed out that the e-form is being used extensively by the establishments and companies which have more than 100 workers due to the fact that it saves time and money.

The Emirates Identity Authority noted that the current e-form contains many mandatory data but it is working on reducing the required data so as to be completed by the competent authorities in charge of civil incidents in the UAE after the electronic linkage between the Emirates Identity Authority and government entities have been activated.
