H.E. Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al Khouri, Emirates ID Director General, has met at his office in the Emirates Identity Authority with Mr. Andy Green, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Logica, which is carrying out a project for developing the infrastructure for the digital identity project.

Al Khouri explained that the meeting comes as part of the ongoing communication with Logica’s senior staff with the aim of being familiarized with the phases of execution of the digital identity project and the progress of work at this significant strategic project, which is being carried out by the Emirates Identity Authority.

This project is aimed at providing many services that would facilitate electronic dealing in the UAE at all levels and at offering the highest criteria of privacy and protection criteria in electronic dealing procedures through participating efficiently in the eTransformation process currently taking place in the UAE, he said.

Al Khouri explained that this is one of the Emirates Identity Authority’s multiple projects aimed at establishing an identity management infrastructure for individuals and not merely issuing the ID card, which is a significant tool that allows individuals to be linked with this infrastructure and benefit from its applications including electronic endorsement and documentation and electronic signature that the ID offers, thanks to its advanced features and unique advantages.

Stressing the importance of the private sector’s role in supporting development projects in the public sector and contributing to the comprehensive and sustainable development plans in all countries, Al Khouri explained the important role played by specialist international companies in streamlining the Emirates Identity Authority’s initiatives, particularly those related to the development of the applications that benefit from the advanced features of the ID card issued by the Emirates Identity Authority.

Meanwhile, Green said this visit comes as part of the mutual co-operation with the Emirates Identity Authority and the company’s keenness on boosting and developing this bilateral relationship.

Green reiterated Logica’s commitment to its responsibilities towards the strategic projects that are being carried out by the Emirates Identity Authority and its keenness on making a success of these projects in the best way possible.

It is worthwhile that Logica is one of biggest specialized companies worldwide and that around 60,000 employees are working in its branches spreading all over the world.
