A delegation from the Emirates Identity Authority headed by H.E. Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al Khouri, Emirates ID Director General, has discussed with H.E. Abdullah Bin Oqeidah Al-Muheiri, Secretary General of Zakat Fund, means of promoting community partnership between the two sides to the benefit of the UAE society in all humanitarian and social fields.
During its visit to the Fund’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi, the delegation commended the efforts exerted by the Zakat Fund in the service of Zakat, praising the advanced level of online services reached by the Zakat Fund through its national cadres which proved the keen vision of the Fund’s leadership while making firm and deliberate steps in the service of Zakat towards a cohesive society.
The visit of the Emirates Identity Authority’s delegation demonstrates the keenness of both parties on consolidating mutual co-operation and building an effective partnership with all the organizations of the society, Al Muheiri said.
The meeting discussed the Zakat Fund’s developments since its inception in 2004 as well as its projects emanating from the Zakat distribution channels and its distinguished online services. The meeting also discussed a detailed report on the Fund’s media campaign in 2011, for which the Emirates Identity Authority was a main sponsor.
The Emirates Identity Authority’s delegation was briefed on the Fund’s working systems for the calculation and collection of zakat since the inception of the Fund up till now. The Fund’s stages of development and modernization were also demonstrated.
The delegation toured the Fund’s different departments and sections where it was briefed on the Fund’s ATMs. Later, Al Khouri and Al-Muheiri exchanged commemorative shields in the presence of Jamal Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Director of Zakat Resources and Media Department, MuhammedSulaiman Al Balushi, Director of Department of Zakat Beneficiaries, Salem SalehSaeed, Zakat Fund’s Secretary General Office Manager, and Abdul Aziz Al Maamari, Director of Public Relations and Marketing at the Emirates Identity Authority.
