The number of ID card formsprinted in the typing officesacross the emirate of Abu Dhabi reached 24,500 formsduring the first four days of the first week of activating the linkageof residency issuance procedures with ID card issuance and renewal procedures in Abu Dhabi. This number stands in comparison to 16,000 registration and renewal forms within the first four days of the week preceding the linkage activation.

Reviewers in the typing officesaffirmed that the last procedures of setting fingerprint scanners along with medical examination have contributed to speeding up the completion of transactions. They noted that the typing offices help them understand the new technique in which theresidency issuance procedures are integrated with the ID card procedures and condensed in one step.

Emaratech, a leading IT and technology solutions company, stressed the effectiveness of the system of filling out ID card registration forms, which is managed by Emaratech through the typing officesunder the agreement signed with the Emirates Identity Authority (EIDA).

The system continues to receive all types of ID card registration transactions in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, including those of individuals with expired residency visas through the “expatriate without residency visa” service.

Emaratech said that the total number of forms for issuance of ID cards rose across Abu Dhabi at 35% during the period from 16-19 October after the activation of linkageof residency and ID card issuance procedures compared to the period from 9-12 October.

Emaratech added that the typing officesacross Abu Dhabi witnessed filling out 3873 forms on Sunday 9 October, and 4976 forms on Sunday 16 October (first day of activatedlinkageof ID card and residency visa procedures). It noted that the number of transactions was highest in Abu Dhabi last Wednesday 19 October as 7616 forms were filled out compared to 3714 forms on Wednesday 12 October.

Emaratech indicated that only a very few number of typing offices in Abu Dhabi did not handle the new form efficiently at the beginning of the activation of linkage between ID card and residencyvisa procedures because they did not attend the new system training workshops. This caused some customers to be confused. Emaratech assured that at the same time the form system and the completion of ID card transactions linked to residency were carried out with utmost efficiency in most other typing offices.

The company renewed its call upon customers facing any problem at the typing offices to call EIDA via the contact center number 600530003. It stressed that all offices that missed the previous training workshops were re-trained to ensure that customers obtain top quality services.
