H.E. Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al Khouri, Emirates ID Director General, has called on the Emirates Identity Authority’s directors and employees to keep up the good work and upgrade customer service to achieve the aspirations of the UAE prudent leadership and the strategic objectives for which the Emirates Identity Authority was established.

Al Khouri noted that the recent promotions at the Emirates Identity Authority, which came in embodiment of the Emirates Identity Authority Chairman and follow-up of Deputy Chairman, are only a first step of a series of steps that the Emirates Identity Authority initiated to improve the conditions of its employees based on their keenness on providing the ingredients of decent life to the Emirates Identity Authority’s employees and enhancing the work environment that attracts them so as to meet their job satisfaction.

In the upcoming period, the Emirates Identity Authority would adopt a more precise and realistic form for assessing the performance of its employees, he said, stressing the necessity for holding regular meetings in all registration centers between the directors and employees and documenting the results of these meetings. These results, however, should include job satisfaction indicators of every employee and would be submitted on a quarterly basis via the proper channels so that the final report including recommendations would be submitted to the Director General.

This was announced during an extraordinary meeting held by the Emirates Identity Authority at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi to discuss the performance of registration centers and the provided services. The meeting was chaired by the Emirates ID Director General and was attended by a number of executive directors and all directors of registration centers of the Emirates Identity Authority across the UAE.

At the beginning of the meeting, Al Khouri clarified that this meeting was held on the basis of the keenness of the Higher Management at the Emirates Identity Authority on enhancing the channels of communication with the directors of registration centers, these being the connecting link between the Emirates Identity Authority and its employees working in the centers, thanks to the pivotal role of the directors of centers in conveying the employees’ viewpoints, opinions and suggestions to the Higher Management on the one hand and to their effective role in clarifying the Higher Management’s vision, aspirations and decisions to all the employees at registration centers on the other.

“Our cadres are the main investment of the Emirates Identity Authority and the title of its success”, Al Khouri said, calling on the directors of registration centers to adopt a systematic communication mechanism for managing their human resources and professionally dealing with them in line with the actual practice and excellent performance.

Al Khouri urged the directors of registration centers to be closer to their employees and assume the role of a therapist to respond to their job demands and be familiar with their job-related concerns and remarks and hence build a corporate culture that would focus on creating a work environment based on mutual trust and team spirit for achieving the Emirates Identity Authority’s national objectives.

The failure of some employees to realize the sublime national task of the Emirates Identity Authority, whose mission calls for contributing to national and individual security, bolstering the personal identity, maintaining a precise population register and providing innovated online services, is evidence on the directors’ failure in the communication process, Al Khouri said, calling for the Emirates Identity Authority’s strategy to be embodied in terms of commitment, dedication and work so that the public interest will always be over the personal interest.

On July 10, the board of directors of the Emirates Identity Authority announced the promotion of around 350 male and female employees in implementation of the directives of His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of the Emirates Identity Authority, and follow-up of His Highness Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and Deputy Chairman of the Emirates Identity Authority. The promoted employees will be given the grade they deserve based on the employees’ performance indicators and the rules, regulations and laws observed in the Emirates Identity Authority.

The job rotation rate at the Emirates Identity Authority dropped by around 7.69 per cent by the end of 2010 as compared to 12 per cent at the end of 2009 and around 1.8 per cent in the first half of 2011.
