HE Dr. Saeed Abdullah bin Mutlaq Al Ghafli, Director General of the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, confirmed that the launch of the Emirates Strategy for Artificial Intelligence constitutes an unprecedented qualitative leap in the development of government work and upgrading to the services provided by various sectors in the state, and opens To UAE a new gate to invest in developed technology and use it in the implementation of projects in various fields according to the best standards of efficiency, which reflects positively on the standard of living and promote economic growth and social welfare.
He said that “This step reaffirms the UAE’s leadership in shaping the future and long-term planning at the regional and global levels. It is considered a real start towards achieving the objectives and aspirations of the” UAE Centennial 2071″, which seeks to be the best country in the world in all fields, referring to the importance of qualified human resources in the implementation of the strategy and its embodiment on the ground through the integration of tools and devices of artificial intelligence in the areas of production, manufacturing and service, in order the smart machines to be an integral part of the work cycle in the institution, to reduce the costs of its products or services and to improve their quality.
Dr. Al-Ghafli added that the investment of artificial intelligence will enable the institutions of the governmental sector to achieve integration among them and establish a smart and interconnected system that can respond to the requirements of the customers quickly, accurately and in a guaranteed quality by reducing the procedures and facilitating the implementation of the steps at each stage of production in addition to decreasing loss in input, saving time and effort, investing human resources energies and directing them towards creativity and innovation in new areas, launching creative initiatives that enable the UAE to maintain achievements and seeking to maximize them and move them to more advanced and developed levels.
Dr. Al-Ghafli stressed on the importance that institutions must intense their understanding of the basic objectives of the strategy to be able to respond to them and apply them in a systematic, scientific and professional way, and above all, the development and organization of the tools of artificial intelligence technology and
integrate them in the work system to support their ability to meet the changes, address the challenges, develop the public performance, develop its capabilities in research and development, rely on artificial intelligence in services, analysis 100% of the data by 2031, develop predictive strategies to assist in the development of preventive mechanisms in various fields, and provide 50% to contribute to the desired growth in GDP.
Dr. Al-Ghafli pointed out that since the launch of the strategy, the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship has begun to develop plans and initiatives that will enable it to respond effectively to them. The focus will be on the use of artificial intelligence tools in devising new techniques to identify, prove and authenticate IDs of individuals, the use of the modern technology in this field, in addition to integrate such tools in the services provision system as well as the rehabilitation and training of human resources and achieve harmonization between them and smart machines to reach a harmonious system in the provision of services to achieve happiness for customers.
