As a part of the “Protect Yourself by Changing Your Status” Initiative
GDRFA-Dubai reported that “Amer” centers have completed 7,757 transactions for violators in the “Protect Yourself by Changing Your Status” Initiative during the first month of the grace period.
Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, said in a press release today that the centers of Amer, which are located all over the Emirate of Dubai, have received thousands of customers wishing to change their residency status to benefit from the privileges of the initiative, which was launched on October 31 in the current year. He pointed out that the total number of transactions completed reached 32,843 transactions since the beginning of the grace period, out of which 7757 transactions for violators of Residency and Entry, confirming that 2,344 residency visas were canceled, while 2,916 residency visa was renewed. 25,086 residency visas were issued during that period in general.
Al Marri pointed out that the reception centers of violators were equipped with all the services that provide the best comfort to customers, to ensure the provision of services and completion of their transactions with ease, to achieve the highest level of satisfaction and happiness for them. Such centers received, during the grace period of the “Protect Yourself by Changing Your Status” initiative, all transactions related to the violators of residency and entry of foreigners and the job seekers. The centers completed the procedures of violators who wish to change the status of their residency within the State, without bearing them any legal consequences, and exempting them from fines resulting from the violation, with the payment of the changing status fees amounted AED521.
He pointed out that “Amer” centers received about 165 beneficiaries of nationals of countries suffering from wars, disasters, and political turmoil, which were included in the Decree of the Cabinet to grant them a one-year residency visa in the State, exempting them from any violations or fines resulting from them, to give them a chance to live with dignity until improving their living conditions.
The total number of “Amer” centers in Dubai is about 47, with 21 centers in Bur Dubai and 26 in Dira. This geographical spread enables the customers to complete their transactions at the nearest center to save their time and effort and grant them happiness.
“Amer” centers open from 8 am to 8 pm, Sunday to Thursday, some centers are working 24 hours a day, with more than 718 national female and male employees who are qualified to receive and complete customer’s transactions. Customers can also submit their questions by contacting the call center 8005111, which operates 24/7.
