Mutual co-operation between Abu Dhabi Health Authority and the Emirates Identity Authority is in progress for integrating the health insurance card with the ID card under an agreement concluded recently between the two sides, enabling the patient’s e-file, which contains all the data, to become in the ID card, said Zaid Al Siksek, Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Health Authority.

This was announced in press statements that Al Siksek made in Abu Dhabi on the sidelines of Abu Dhabi Medical Congress, which started today at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre and will continue till Tuesday, October 25.

As much as 70 per cent of the patient’s e-file is currently available with the government hospitals affiliated to Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), Al Siksek said, adding that the health insurance card allows access to 98 per cent of the patient’s information listed in his/her e-file.

Investment in the private medical sector in Abu Dhabi grew by 14 per cent this year, Al Siksek said, noting that 600 new beds would be put into use next year.
