The Emirates Identity Authority has announced the delivery of 350 ID card readers to Abu Dhabi Judicial Department as part of its ongoing efforts to support all UAE organizations and enable them to deal with ID cards easily and smoothly and read the contents of the electronic chip inserted in them in a few seconds.
This is the second batch of readers delivered to Abu Dhabi Judicial Department since the beginning of this year, the Emirates Identity Authority added, noting that the department received 120 ID card readers in last January.
The Emirates Identity Authority pointed out that providing Abu Dhabi Judicial Department with these readers would contribute to reducing the time needed to complete transactions and achieve the Emirates Identity Authority’s vision of rendering the ID card the most valuable cards in the UAE.
The Emirates Identity Authority affirmed that it would carry on its efforts aimed at developing an integrated package of programs that deal with the ID card in several programming languages compatible with different kinds of smart card readers. It noted that demand for ID card readers was on the rise by virtue of the increasing number of government entities and organizations that adopted the ID card in their transactions which exceeded 150 now.
The Emirates Identity Authority expressed its readiness to provide ID card readers to all UAE organizations interested in providing innovated services by benefiting from the ID card features. This coincides with the forthcoming completion of registration of most UAR population in the ID card and population register as per the Emirates Identity Authority’s strategic plan 2010-2013.
