A delegation from the Kingdom of Norway visited the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security, “Khalifa City A” in Abu Dhabi, last Tuesday morning, with the aim of enhancing cooperation and partnership between the two sides.
The Norwegian delegation received His Excellency Major General Suhail Juma bin Kaltham Al Khaili, Director General of Identity and Passports Department at the Authority, in the presence of His Excellency Juma Abdullah Al Kaabi, Executive Director of the Information Technology Sector, Ali Hashem Al-Awadi, Director of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation, Amira Al Serkal, Director of Government Communication, and a number of employees of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation While the Norwegian delegation included John Nordenson, Senior Adviser at the Information Center, Ida Marie Bakken Al Muhajir, Adviser to the Visa Section at the Norwegian Embassy in the country, and Vilda Skjelberg, Administrative Secretary Fara.
During the visit, the two parties discussed ways to support partnership, communication and constructive cooperation between the two countries. They also reviewed the terms of reference of the authority, and learned about the rules and procedures for issuing the Emirates ID to foreigners residing in the country, procedures for documentation, registration, proof of identity and documentation upon leaving the country, and the mechanism for using digital identifiers and applications in the authority.
The Norwegian delegation made a field visit to the operations room to learn about the procedures and stages of issuing the identity card, and also visited the Customer Happiness Center to learn about the services provided by the authority and its quality standards.
