Over 526,000 ID card registration forms were filled out at the typing centers across the UAE and via the Emirates Identity Authority’s website in December 2011 compared to 220,000 forms in November. This coincided with typing over 350,000 new and renewed ID cards in December 2011.

The average number of forms filled out through the Emirates Identity Authority authorized typing centers across the UAE stood at around 17,000 forms per day in last December, said the Emirates Identity Authority.

The Emirates Identity Authority pointed out that UAE nationals filled out 155 ID card registration forms through its website during the first week of the service launch in early January.

The Emirates Identity Authority confirmed its determination to allow residents to avail of the registration form through its website in February following the success of the test operation of the form for UAE nationals on the past days.

The Emirates Identity Authority reiterated its call on applicants to register in the ID card as soon as possible and not to wait until the last minute of the grace periods given for registration or renewal so as to avoid delay fees.
