(ABU DHABI) – The Emirates Identity Authority has announced the test launch of the registration e-form on its website for UAE nationals in January as a first stage, provided that this service will be available for UAE residents in February.

The Emirates Identity Authority revealed that the total number of transactions for registration and renewal of expired ID cards at its authorized typing centers across the UAE exceeded 260,000 transactions in one week, equal to around 37,000 transactions per day.

This was announced during the regular meeting of the directors of the Emirates Identity Authority-affiliated registration centers, which was held yesterday at Sharjah Registration Center. The meeting was chaired by H.E. Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al Khouri, Emirates ID Director General, and was attended by a number of Emirates Identity Authority’s executive directors, areamanagers, directors of registration centers and registration follow-up supervisors.

During the meeting, the Emirates Identity Authority decided to double efforts to provide additional areas in some registration centers attached to the preventive medicine centers, which were managed by EIMAS for electronic management and security solutions across the UAE and received a great customer response over the past period.

The meeting reviewed the timeline for carrying out the project for linkage with the preventive medicine in Dubai as work is continuing for opening 4 registration centers gradually within the coming days, provided that the project’s last 2 centers will be opened before the end of the first quarter of 2012. The linkage of residence issuance procedures with the ID card registration procedures in Dubai will be activated from early April.
