The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security is set to open the Electronic Visa Issuance Center in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, in the near future.
The opening of the center comes in line with the directives of the wise leadership, and reflects the strong bilateral relations and brotherly ties between the United Arab Emirates and the sisterly Lebanese Republic, which are founded on mutual respect and a shared commitment to strengthening constructive and fruitful cooperation across various fields, in a manner that serves the interests and prosperity of both countries and their peoples. This initiative also forms part of the Authority’s efforts to transfer the UAE Government’s pioneering experience and its proactive approach to government development, the digitization of traditional procedures, and the elimination of bureaucracy in government services—shifting from conventional processes to integrated smart solutions that exceed the expectations of customers, both within the UAE and abroad.
H.E. Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, Director General of the Authority, stated: “The opening of the Visa Issuance Center in Beirut represents an important step within the Authority’s plan to restructure and rehabilitate electronic visa issuance centers abroad, which currently number 18 centers.”
He added that the Beirut center aims to streamline and shorten the customer journey, enabling applicants to complete all visa issuance procedures within their home country, without the need for travel or multiple procedural steps. This will contribute to simplifying processes, reducing service time, and enhancing customer satisfaction and happiness for those wishing to visit the UAE for tourism, medical treatment, education, or other purposes.
H.E. further explained that the technical systems adopted at the center have been upgraded and fully integrated with the electronic visa platform, ensuring faster processing, data accuracy, and unified procedures in line with the highest approved standards, while enhancing operational efficiency and service sustainability.
Major General Al Khaili also noted that the center provides a range of services to applicants in Lebanon, including the issuance of visit, medical treatment, study, and work visas; verification of official documents such as passports, medical reports, and certificates of good conduct; biometric procedures including ten-fingerprint capture, iris scanning, and facial imaging; as well as conducting personal interviews for work visa applicants.
