H.E. Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al Khouri, emirates ID Director General and Chairman of Steering Committee for Registration Project in Preventive Medicine Centers, has called for doubling efforts and abiding by the timeline set for operating the new registration centers linked with the preventive medicine project.
This was announced during the regular meeting of the Steering Committee for Registration Project in Preventive Medicine Centers, which was held under his chairmanship at the Emirates Identity Authority’s head office and attended by the committee members and the representatives of EIMAS for electronic management and security solutions, in charge of carrying out the project of developing the population register system and the registration of the population in preventive medicine centers.
The regular meeting, held once every month, discussed the current status of the project, work progress plan and completion rate of the project, which included setting up registration centers annexed to the preventive medicine centers across the UAE, or in adjacent sites, gradually as per the set plan.
Al Khouri emphasized that the importance of the project lay in the anticipated completion results as embodied in developing the population register system, raising the production capacity of ID card issuance rate, and increasing the daily capacity of registration in ID cards through the registration centers annexed to the preventive medicine centers and the Emirates Identity Authority-affiliated registration centers.
The committee decided to start operating the Musaffah Center by late June and to launch the Capital Center in Sheikh Khalifa Medical City by July, enabling the preventive medicine linkage process to be completed in Abu Dhabi.
The committee was also briefed on the launch details of two new sites in Dubai, Jafza and Knowledge Village, which are expected to start work in June, God willing.
The meeting reviewed the completion stages of a process for upgrading the capacity of the operations center, which is expected to be completed by the end of the current month. It also reviewed the supply of the new printing machines, considering that the first printer had already been supplied and the second printer is expected to be received within days following the success of the production test at a rate of rejected cards of 0%.
It is expected to operate the machines early July 2011as the production capacity will be gradually raised along July and August until the machines are in full capacity for printing 24,000 cards per day.
The meeting was attended by H.E. Yousef Al Bulooshi, Chief Executive Officer of Registration Centers and Steering Committee Executive Member, Mr. Richard Michael, Steering Committee Executive Member, Mr. Wala’a Al Ameen, Project Supervisor, Mr. Mohammed Al Nashar, Project Manager, and a number of EIMAS representatives.
