His Highness Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and Deputy Chairman of the Emirates Identity Authority, has underscored the UAE leadership’s keenness on developing a series of integrated technological systems in the UAE through setting up an advanced and secure infrastructure for proving and confirming identities in this changing world, using the latest discoveries of modern sciences and preparing the knowledge, scientific and economic infrastructures on the way towards such maturity which is on line with the UAE’s strategies and orientations.
In a speech marking the launch of ID WORLD Abu Dhabi 2012 which was delivered on his behalf by H.E. Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al Khouri, Emirates ID Director General, Sheikh Saif said: “This summit comes at a time all countries of the world are facing new challenges including the necessity of providing an integrated system of security and safety for their societies and citizens and dealing most responsibly with the modern challenges and knowing how to overcome them.”
Sheikh Saif added: “We believe that the ID WORLD Abu Dhabi 2012 is an ideal opportunity for exchanging ideas and getting familiar with the up-to-date practices in the field of electronic ID and identification systems.” Sheikh Saif said he was hopeful that the working papers participating in this summit would contribute to spreading awareness with respect to applying advanced ID systems and enabling the officials at both the government and private sectors to develop efficient strategies for implementing development initiatives and projects, using the best technological methods and modern systems.
He also expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research for hosting this year’s summit, valuing its outstanding contribution to consolidating the UAE’s cultural, scientific, research and intellectual position, which rendered it one of the most prestigious intellect and research centers at the regional and global levels. Sheikh Saif wished the summit all the success and the participants good accommodation in the UAE, their second homeland.
