The Marriage Fund and the Emirates Identity Authority have organized the 5th mass wedding this year for 29 bridegrooms at the Armed Forces Officers Club in Abu Dhabi the day before yesterday. The mass wedding was held under the patronage of His Highness Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and Deputy Chairman of the Emirates Identity Authority.
Her Excellency Dr. Maitha Salem Al Shamsi, Minister of State and Chairman of the Marriage Fund, commended the ongoing support received by the UAE nationals from the prudent leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, May Allah protect him, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of Emirates and His Highness General Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dubai Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
In her speech delivered on her behalf by Abdullah Bin Aqeedah Al Muhairi, Marriage Fund Board Member, Al Shamsi expressed her thanks and appreciation to Sheikh Saif for his sponsorship of the Emirates ID wedding.
She also thanked the Emirates Identity Authority for its support which is in line with the vision of the federal government’s strategy aimed at establishing an effective social partnership between the government and local institutions to serve the UAE people.
She added: “Through the mass weddings it organizes, the Fund helps the UAE youth reduce the costs of marriage in general and wedding parties in particular which consume large amounts of money that are better used in building and ensuring a stable family life. Some people are financially incapable of holding their wedding parties and are forced to borrow money to do so; hence came the idea of mass weddings, which received considerable attention from the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may Allah have mercy upon him, who established the rules of social and family development and supported the UAE youth by establishing the Marriage Fund Foundation.”
For his part, H.E. Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al Khouri, Emirates ID Director General, extended the warmest thanks, appreciation and gratitude to His Highness Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and Deputy Chairman of the Emirates Identity Authority, for his kind patronage of this mass wedding. He valued Sheikh Saif’s keenness and ongoing directives to embrace and implement the social initiatives that are beneficial to our beloved country and dear society.
Al Khouri said: “The Emirates Identity Authority’s wedding coinciding with the expected start of the UAE celebrations of its 40th National Day would double our joys on this day. Our National Day will illuminate the UAE and all its cities over the coming days as it is regarded as a gorgeous link in the chain of days of our blessed federal state’s process of development.”
This mass wedding comes as part of the Marriage Fund’s many constructive initiatives and an extension to the mass weddings held all over the UAE, the most prominent and significant of which are the “UAE Wedding”, the chain of “Federation Weddings” and many other mass weddings that the Marriage Fund used to organize since its inception, Al Khouri added.
In the Emirates ID’s speech delivered on his behalf by Abdul Aziz Al Maamari, Director of Public Relations and Marketing, Emirates Identity Authority, Al Khouri affirmed that “these wonderful social initiatives reflect our prudent leadership’s keenness, ongoing patronage and diligent follow-up of all issues of concern to the youth in our dear country including the marriage issues and the formation of happy, stable and consistent UAE families with the aim of enabling them to contribute to the comprehensive development of our country and fulfill all their roles for their society and country.”
Al Khouri noted that “our UAE family in general and the social policy in particular receive all kinds of support and patronage from our prudent leadership to be able to fulfill their roles and achieve their objectives in the best way possible. Hence, diligent endeavors were made and continuous efforts were exerted to ensure the stability and consistency of the UAE family. These endeavors and efforts were culminated by the establishment of the Marriage Fund Foundation, which is wedding today a new group of nationals who will lay the first brick of their family building and are determined to form stable and consistent UAE families.”
Al Khouri pointed out that “the Emirates ID wedding, which is organized by the Marriage Fund Foundation and sponsored by the Emirates Identity Authority, is an embodiment of the strategic partnership between the Emirates ID and the Marriage Fund and a prestigious form of social solidarity aimed at helping our young men and women form their families and build their future and marriage life on sound bases that ensure their happiness and contribute to firmly establishing the solid bases of a UAE family, which is always wanted to be consistent, stable and efficient in its society.”
Congratulating the participants in the Emirates ID wedding, Al Khouri said: “We congratulate you on this wedding and on this double joy of establishing a family, the entire members of which will contribute to reimbursing part of the debt we all owe to our prudent leadership, may Allah protect it, and to our dear country which we deeply love.”
The wedding party started with the folk groups playing the Youla and Ayala and was attended by a large crowd of the relatives of brides and bridegrooms and the general public.
A bridegroom talking on behalf of his colleagues expressed his thanks and appreciation of the prudent leadership led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, may Allah protect him, for its continuous support for the UAE youth following the path of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may Allah have mercy upon him, who paid considerable attention to building a consistent and stable UAE family thanks to his directives for helping the youth reduce marriage costs by holding mass weddings.
