Under the patronage of His Highness Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and Deputy Chairman of the Emirates Identity Authority, the Emirates Identity Authority will host the ID World Abu Dhabi 2011 at The Yas Hotel on April 3 and 4.
H.E. Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al Khouri, Emirates ID Director General, has extended the deepest thanks and gratitude to His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of the Emirates Identity Authority, for his prudent directives and ongoing support for the Emirates Identity Authority to be able to fulfill its role and achieve its objectives.
During his speech in the press conference organized on Monday at the head office of the Emirates Identity Authority to announce the summit, Al Khouri also extended his most sincere thanks and appreciation to His Highness Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and Deputy Chairman of the Emirates Identity Authority, for his kind patronage of the ID World Abu Dhabi 2011, which will help this global event gain a unique position and an added value.
“The selection of the capital Abu Dhabi to host this global summit specializing in digital technology and smart electronic identification documents is evidence on the unique location that our beloved country occupies on the world’s technology map, which constitutes the vital artery of this age,” Al Khouri said.
He explained that the participation of around 40 countries of the world in this summit is a source of pride for “all of us” and reflects the distinguished position, which the UAE occupies regionally and internationally and which has rendered it a point of attraction for many global events including this summit.
The summit will handle several issues including introduction to radio frequency, vital statistics, smart cards and data collection in three global forums on ID: Citizen ID Forum, Transportation Security Forum and Asset Tracking Forum.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Sophie de la Giroday, President, Wise Media, which is specializing in organizing digital identity conferences and exhibitions, expressed her happiness about the capital Abu Dhabi being the host of this global event for the 4th successive time.
She praised the dazzling and striking successes that the Emirates Identity Authority achieved in hosting this summit over the past three years, emphasizing that the good reflections of these successes contributed to stimulating many prominent personalities and entities from all over the world to take part in the ID World Abu Dhabi 2011.
Welcoming mass media representatives, Al Khouri said: “I would like to seize this opportunity to say hello to all of you and to thank you for your diligent and fruitful efforts, which contributed to offering all forms of media support to the Emirates Identity Authority through the news, reports, analyses, articles and other media messages of the different printed, visual and audible mass media.”
It is worthwhile that the Emirates Identity Authority and Wise Media are organizing this summit in co-operation with the European Commissariat.
