The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA) has co-organized the 1st Governmental Institutional Agility Forum, “Why, What, and How for Institutional Agility in Government Entities,” in cooperation with the Business Agility Institute, at “Sky View” Dubai.
Dr. Ahmed Sidky, Head of Business Agility at Riot Games and President of the International Consortium for Agile (ICAgile), was hosted as a key speaker at the event, which also witnessed the launch of the Global Institutional Agility Institute for New Standards and Dimensions of Institutional Agility.
The forum aimed to educate attendees on the key skills, behaviours, and practices that promote a better working environment and achieve the objectives of institutional agility.
H.E. Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA Dubai, stated that the forum was one of the initiatives and steps that led to achieving a 5-star rating and that with collective efforts, the GDRFA will certainly get 6 stars.
He also added that all management strategies will be harnessed to create a new future for customers, with a primary focus on achieving sustainable development goals.
For his part, Dr. Hazaa Al Nuaimi, Coordinator General for Dubai Governmental Excellence Program, said that the UAE government, which hosts more than 200 nationalities, views individuals not just as visitors but also as valued customers. Therefore, services are provided in a smoother, faster, and more refined manner.
During the event, Dr. Ahmed Sidky presented a set of standards and indicators to evaluate the level, performance, and flexibility of institutional agility.
Sidky noted that there are no fundamental differences between private companies and government sectors in providing services, as both are focused on serving the customer. The only difference is that the government does not have competitors, whereas the private sector has many companies vying for customers.
