General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA) has announced that the experiments for traveling without a passport and without checking by the passports’ officer in Dubai airports will be concluded by next Wednesday, 10 October 2018, and the smart project will be launched later.
In a press release published by “The Gulf” newspaper in yesterday’s issue, Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA said that the new project aims at easing and expediting passengers’ accessing Dubai Airport, and to complete procedures in only a few seconds without the need to present any passport, ID card or any other documents. Alternatively, passengers’ data will be accurately inputted on the basis of their facial recognition and iris scans.
This announcement came in the lecture titled “Life taught me”, which was organized by GDRFA in Fujairah in cooperation and coordination with GDRFA in Dubai, and attended by Brigadier General Rabea bin Sinan, Director General of GDRFA in Fujairah and more than 500 employees from different government entities in the Emirate.
