Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security Welcomes Official Delegation from the Republic of Lebanon

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP) received an official delegation from the Republic of Lebanon on a four-day field visit from 3 to 6 November 2025. The visit aimed to strengthen bilateral cooperation, exchange expertise, and explore best practices in customs systems and smart port operations across the United Arab Emirates.

The delegation was welcomed by His Excellency Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, Director General of the Authority, in the presence of His Excellency Ahmad Abdullah Bin Lahij Al Falasi, Acting Director General of Customs and Port Security, and His Excellency Jumaa Abdullah Al Kaabi, Acting Executive Director of the Digital Transformation Sector, along with a number of ICP officials at the Authority’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi. The Lebanese delegation was headed by Mrs. Reema Fayad Makki, Acting Chairperson of the Lebanese Customs (Higher Council), accompanied by a number of specialized officials.

The visit included several field tours, beginning with a visit to the National Early-Information Centre, where the delegation was briefed on operational mechanisms and smart systems used in customs operations. They were also introduced to the advanced systems for shipment management and tracking, as well as the coordination processes that enhance inspection efficiency and reduce customs clearance time.

The delegation also conducted a site visit to Zayed International Airport, accompanied by His Excellency Hamad Saif Al Mashghouni, Acting Executive Director of the Air Ports Affairs Sector. During the tour, the delegation reviewed best practices implemented to facilitate passenger movement and observed the integration of smart systems used in inspection and logistics services. Another stop included a visit to Khalifa Port, accompanied by His Excellency Brigadier Omar Mohammed Al Owais, Acting Executive Director of the Marine Ports Affairs Sector. The visit featured a presentation of leading practices in container and cargo management, the role of Abu Dhabi Ports in enhancing cooperation with ICP’s marine port operations, and support for developing intelligent customs infrastructure. This was followed by a field tour during which the delegation was briefed on the services provided and the port’s state-of-the-art facilities.

At the conclusion of the visit, the Lebanese delegation expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the warm reception and excellent organization, commending the high level of advancement observed at UAE ports and the seamless integration between infrastructure and modern technologies. The delegation members affirmed that the visit represents an important step toward strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the fields of customs systems and port security.
