The Emirates Identity Authority – Sharjah Registration Center –, in co-operation with the Department of Blood Transfusion and Research Services at the Ministry of Health, has organized a successful blood donation campaign as part of the Emirates Identity Authority’s participation in the activities of the World Blood Donor Day 2011. The campaign was organized under the slogan “The more blood supplies you have, the more lives you save.”
The campaign received an impressive response from the Emirates Identity Authority’s directors, supervisors and employees. A number of private establishments and customers who were keen on contributing to the success of this humanitarian activity also participated in the campaign.
The campaign is aimed at supporting blood transfusion programs in the UAE and providing adequate amounts of blood for major and normal surgical operations, heart surgery etc. It is also aimed at supporting the need of children with Thalassemia for continuous blood transfusion.
It is worthwhile that this campaign comes as part of the series of initiatives and activities undertaken by the social initiatives and activities team at Sharjah Registration Center.
