Emirates ID values Abu Dhabi Executive Council’s decision to adopt ID card in public transactions

The Emirates Identity Authority has valued the decision of the Executive Committee chaired by H.E. Mohammad Ahmad Al Bowardi, Abu Dhabi Executive Council Member, which made it mandatory for the ID card to be used in all public transactions with the government entities and organizations across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in line with the note submitted by the Abu Dhabi Systems & Information Centre.

The Emirates Identity Authority emphasized that this significant decision would support its efforts for completing its national project as embodied in the population register and ID card system, which would support the comprehensive development projects in the UAE through providing the necessary information on the demographic structure for supporting decision-making and strategic planning in all vital sectors.

The Emirates Identity Authority praised the Executive Committee’s decision, which reflected the committee’s keenness on enabling the Emirates Identity Authority to achieve its vision aimed at maintaining the national and individual security, keeping a precise and comprehensive population register and providing innovated electronic services.

The Emirates Identity Authority also thanked Abu Dhabi Systems & information Centre for its support, which would enable the Emirates ID to achieve its strategic plan 2010-2013.

The Emirates Identity Authority reiterated its call on all the population to register in the ID card and renew their expired cards, particularly that the authorities and organizations adopting the ID card as a mandatory condition for the public to benefit from their services are on the rise and have exceeded 150 entities so far.
