Tuesday 10 April 2012

H.E. Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al Khouri, Emirates ID Director General, has emphasized that the Emirates Identity Authority is paying utmost attention to the individuals with special needs and is keen on providing them with all forms of support.

This was announced in a speech by Al Khouri which was delivered on his behalf by Mr. Nasser Al Abdouli, Director of Al Barsha Registration Center, in a press conference held on Khor Fakkan yesterday to announce the Emirates Identity Authority’s sponsorship of the Second Scientific Forum on Special Needs. The forum is organized by the Khor Fakkan Club for Handicapped between May 1 and 5, 2012 and held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Sharjah Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler and Chairman of Sharjah Executive Council.

Al Khouri added that the Emirates Identity Authority’s keenness on sponsoring this type of social activities and scientific forums is the embodiment of one of the themes of its strategic plan 2010-2013 for building and promoting the partnership relations with the local community. Such keenness is also based on the belief of the Emirates Identity Authority’s family in its role in launching, supporting and sponsoring the social, humanitarian, national and cultural activities that bring benefit to the UAE and UAE people, he said.

Al Khouri reiterated that the Emirates Identity Authority is sparing no effort to provide all forms of support to this category of the society, whether through exempting people with special needs and individuals with autism from registration fees and facilitating their registration in the population register and ID card system at their residence, or through keenness on giving them priority to jobs at the Emirates Identity Authority.

The press conference was attended by Abdul Razzaq Ahmed Rasheed, chairman of the organizing committee of the scientific forum and chairman of Khor Fakkan Club for Handicapped, Ismael Fadlallah, Director of Dubai and Northern Emirates at the Emirates Identity Authority, and Ibrahim Al Hammoudi, Director of Customer Service Center in Sharjah.
