More than 20 employees of the Emirates Identity Authority participated in the “Investors In People” (IIP) international meetings, which were held in Dubai today (Tuesday) under the sponsorship of the Emirates Identity Authority and would continue till April 26.
The Emirates Identity Authority’s sponsorship of the “Investors In People” meetings, which are held for the first time outside Europe, came as part of the Emirates Identity Authority’s keenness on supporting and developing human capabilities as well as its endeavor to consolidate the “Investors In People” concept and apply its criteria, considering that the Emirates Identity Authority is the first federal authority in the UAE to apply those criteria in all its departments and centers.
The UAE was selected to host these international meetings due to the fact that it is one of the most concerned countries of the region with developing human capabilities and seeking a convenient work environment based on its belief in the importance of human resources and their role in achieving economic growth.
These meetings saw the participation of representatives of 18 countries from the different member countries of the “Investors In People International”, of which the UAE is the latest member and is represented in the exclusive partner of “International Performance Excellence”.
The event will start with a forum titled “Best Practices of Investment in People”, which will be held on April 24, 2012 with an inaugural presentation by H.E. Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al Khouri, Emirates ID Director General.
The forum will discuss the most important elements of success in applying the criteria of investors in people and will review the success stories and best practices of the organizations that have won international recognition.
The speakers in this forum will include an elite group of specialists and policy-makers such as Mr. Bill Reed, International Contracts Manager at Investors in People International in the UK, Dr. Alaa Garad, Director General of IIP Branch in the UAE and CEO of International Performance Excellence, Mr. Mohammed Bushanain, Executive Director, Corporate Quality and Management Excellence, Dubai Department of Economic Development, Mr. Alex Bultog, Director of Corporate Excellence at Gasco, an ADNOC affiliate.
Mrs. Khawala Al Tayer, HR Director at the Emirates Identity Authority, received a shield of honor from the International Performance Excellence, which was presented by Dr. Alaa Garad in appreciation of the Emirates Identity Authority’s efforts for supporting the International Performance Excellence’s initiatives.
It is noteworthy that the criteria of investment in people were formulated and approved by the British government 20 years ago. They are currently applicable in more than 45,000 corporations in 70 countries. As many as 7 organizations in the UAE have obtained certificate of conformity with these criteria including the Emirates Identity Authority.
