Saturday 4 February 2012

The Emirates Identity Authority has participated in the Second eGovernment Forum, which was organized by the Emirates eGovernment in co-operation with the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs.

The participants in the forum were briefed on the framework through which websites as well as the services provided on them are evaluated. They were also briefed on the results of a sample of websites including that of the Emirates Identity Authority, which is regarded as an advanced website according to the preliminary results of the field survey conducted by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs.

The forum, which saw the participation of a number of UAE ministries and government authorities and entities by the end of last week, discussed the relationship of individuals and customers with government services from the viewpoint and concept of eGovernment. It also discussed the eServices which can be provided to individuals and which would upgrade work and introduce new concepts for excellent government service.

The forum is aimed at upgrading eGovernment and raising the degree of its electronic maturity at all levels starting from the electronic infrastructures and ending with the provision of interactive eServices that cover all aspects of life in line with the requirements of individuals in the different channels including websites, smart phones and social networking sites.

It is noteworthy that the projects and initiatives contained in the Emirates Identity Authority’s strategy 2010-2013 are aimed at upgrading government eServices and rendering them safer by developing integrated infrastructures that enable data to be obtained and exchanged and providing innovated mechanisms and technologies for being familiar with the beneficiaries of eServices in the UAE and framing the concept of secure electronic dealing.

The Emirates Identity Authority was represented in the forum by H.E. Eng. Nasser Al Mazrouei, ICT Executive Director, and Mr. Shadi Zuraiqat, IT Advisor.
