Emirates ID opens new registration center in Al Baraha, Dubai next Sunday

Tuesday 21 February 2012

The Emirates Identity Authority has announced its intention to open a new registration center near the preventive medicine center based in Al Baraha Hospital in Dubai next Sunday. The total capacity of the center is over 1,000 applicants per day.

The Emirates Identity Authority clarified that the opening of the new center comes as part of a project to link residence issuance procedures with ID card registration procedures which is scheduled to be activated in Dubai from April 1, 2012.

The Emirates Identity Authority said the new Al Baraha center would bring to 5 the number of registration centers attached to the medical fitness (preventive medicine) centers in Dubai. The capacity of all these registration centers will be over 3,000 applicants per day.

The Emirates Identity Authority pointed out that the Al Baraha center to be opened early next week near Al Baraha Hospital is a temporary center until the construction work of the registration center scheduled to be opened inside the hospital’s campus is completed in June and attached to the preventive medicine center.

The registration centers attached to the medical fitness centers in Dubai, which are run by EIMAS for electronic management and security solutions are available in the Knowledge Village, Al Satwa, Al Quoz and Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority (JAFZA).

Meanwhile, the Emirates Identity Authority affirmed that work is under way to open the Muhaisna Center attached to the medical fitness center in Dubai before mid March. By this, the project of the registration centers attached to the preventive medicine centers across the UAE would be completed with a total of 29 centers.

The Emirates Identity Authority called on the residents in Abu Dhabi and Dubai to speed up registering in ID card and renewing their expired cards and not to wait until the last minute of the announced deadlines, particularly that the registration deadline will end on April 1 in Abu Dhabi and June 1 in Dubai.

The Emirates Identity Authority affirmed that filling out the registration form at the typing centers or through its website would help applicants avoid the resolved delay fees, provided that they would abide by the date specified for completing the registration procedures (fingerprinting and photographing) at an Emirates Identity Authority-affiliated service point.

The Emirates Identity Authority noted the support and co-operation of all the health authorities across the UAE for enabling it to open registration centers attached to preventive medicine centers, which helped ease registration procedures for customers and limit the procedures to one geographical zone.

ID card-residence linkage procedures

The ID card-residence linkage procedures across the UAE requires the applicant to fill out the e-form at an authorized typing center or through the Emirates Identity Authority’s website before heading to a preventive medicine center – as per his/her residence – for medical examination. Subsequently, the applicant should directly visit the ID card registration center attached to the preventive medicine center to complete the registration procedures (fingerprinting and photographing) without a prior appointment, noting that an ID card is delivered to its owner only after his/her own residence has been issued by the competent authorities.

Upon filling the e-form at the typing center, the applicant is required to present his/her original (valid) passport and a document showing the unified number (old residence or entry visa), while the original passport and the ID card registration form are required to be presented when visiting the registration center.
