Emirates ID launches online service to return fees collected by mistake shortly

The Emirates Identity Authority has affirmed that cases where the ID card issuance fees are collected twice by mistake from one person at the typing centers are very rare and not worth mentioning compared with the total number of registrants in population register and ID card.

In reply to inquiries on the Emarat Al Youm newspaper, The Emirates Identity Authority said customers were to blame in most of these cases and nonetheless each case would be treated separately and the collected amounts would be returned to the respective customers once their eligibility for these amounts was proved.

The Emirates Identity Authority unveiled that it is in the process of announcing shortly a new, easy and clear mechanism for returning any sums of money that were collected by mistake from customers at the typing centers.

The Emirates Identity Authority clarified that this mechanism would allow customers to input their data through a new online service to be launched shortly which would allow the Emirates Identity Authority to make sure of the customer’s eligibility for the amounts paid by mistake and take the necessary procedures to guarantee customers’ rights.

The Emirates Identity Authority affirmed that it had communicated with a number of customers to inquire about their complaints and take the necessary measures and urge them to communicate with the Emirates Identity Authority and file their complaints through its contact center so as to be discussed and handled.

The Emirates Identity Authority urged customers to make sure of the required transaction when filling out the e-form at the typing centers. It also urged them to contact the new contact center on 600530003, which would see a quantum leap in terms of its services after being officially launched early next month.
