The Information Security Section of the ICT Department, Emirates Identity Authority has organized a number of workshops to expand the scope of the ISO 27001:2005 Information Security Certification to cover all the Emirates Identity Authority’s departments and centers across the UAE.
These workshops were organized as part of the Emirates Identity Authority’s bid to expand the scope of the information security policy management system and intensify its efforts in order for its major registration centers to be included in this scope in preparation for external inspection. The Emirates Identity Authority’s efforts are also aimed at ensuring that all its major registration centersare awarded an ISO certification in information security.
The information security policy management system is aimed at enhancing security protection in a bid to implement the Emirates Identity Authority’s strategy and achieve its objectives of developing a secure and accurate population register.
The workshops held between February 5-15 covered the following major registration centers: Musaffah, Al Karama, Al Rashidiya, Al Ain, Al Barsha, Ajman, Sharjah, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah.
The information security team, which included Dr. Fat’hi Al Damerdash, Information Security Advisor, and Amer Al Murar, Information Security Administrator, conducted an internal inspection of the said centers between February 13 and March 4.
