Monday 30 April 2012

The Emirates Identity Authority and a delegation from Abu Dhabi Executive Council have discussed the mechanism of activating the system of comprehensive electronic linkage with the government authorities and organizations across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi as part of the Emirates Identity Authority’s efforts for starting to carry out its strategic projects through implementing the electronic linkage project and adopting the ID card in all government and semi-government transactions.

The meeting, held in the Emirates Identity Authority’s main building yesterday, dealt with a number of major points related to the ID card’s role in serving the electronic linkage project and the necessity for all local and federal entities across the UAE to jointly co-ordinate and co-operate with the aim of making a success of the electronic linkage project. The meeting was attended by Dr. Abdullah Hamarain Al Dhaheri, Chief Project Manager at the Human Development Sector, Abu Dhabi Executive Council, and Mrs. Khawala Al Tayer, Director of Human Resources at the Emirates Identity Authority.

The Emirates Identity Authority praised Abu Dhabi Executive Council’s ongoing support of the Emirates Identity Authority, valuing the council’s recent directives that made it mandatory to use the ID card all over Abu Dhabi in all the transactions of the public with the government entities and organizations. This should support the Emirates Identity Authority’s efforts to complete its national project as embodied in the population register and ID card system, which would support the comprehensive development projects in the UAE through providing the necessary information on the demographic structure to support decision-making and strategic planning in all vital fields and sectors, the Emirates Identity Authority added.

The meeting was attended from the Emirates Identity Authority’s side by Mr. Abdullah Al Kindi, Operations Director, Mr. Saeed Al Junaibi, Quality Director, Mr. Mahmoud Al Sonbaty, Information Systems Consultant, Ms Aysha Al Raisi, Director of Strategic Planning Project and Acting Director of Public Relations and Marketing, and Mrs. Amani Zeidan, Human Resources Consultant.
