Emirates ID confirms readiness for electronic linkage with government entities early 4th quarter

The Emirates Identity Authority has affirmed that the electronic infrastructure for linkage with government entities will be ready by early 4th quarter of this year. This comes as part of the current mechanism of co-ordination with the concerned ministries and entities, enabling them to prepare their infrastructures before linkage is put into effect, noting that 3 government entities will be linked this year.

In a press release published by Al Khaleej newspaper, the Emirates Identity Authority clarified that it had completed the first phase of a project for electronic linkage with government organizations as embodied in conducting the analytical studies for the requirements of linking the population register system with the systems and databases of 6 entities; namely, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Labor, Ministry of Higher Studies and Scientific Research and other local entities. This is aimed at updating the person’s file and at the same time maintaining accurate civil and individual data as part of a security mechanism that takes into consideration the highest protection and confidentiality criteria.

The Emirates Identity Authority added that it would employ a high level security technology to ensure that the data which would be transferred across a private network lines associated with these entities are preserved and that the information is transferred in a secure and precise manner. Entities will not be allowed to access the information and data at the Emirates Identity Authority except in the context of their mandates and by virtue of their inception law.
