The Emirates Identity Authority and the General Pension and Social Security Authority (GPSSA) discussed means of bolstering their strategic partnership relation and developing the prospects of mutual co-operation with the aim of ensuring successful implementation of the joint initiatives and projects as stated in the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the two sides.
During the meeting, the MoU signed by the two authorities was reviewed and evaluated. The meeting also examined the benefits of adopting the ID card as an essential document for the proof of identity and identity verification for all GPSSA customers.
This was announced during a co-ordination meeting held recently at the GPSSA headquarters and attended by H.E. Mudhaffar Al Haj Mudhaffar, Director General of GPSSA, H.E. Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al Khouri, Emirates ID Director General, and a number of officials from both sides.
The two sides underscored the importance of developing and activating the mechanism of work related to linking the ID card number with the insurance number for all the people insured with the GPSSA. They also underlined the importance of reading the data of the ID card electronically from the ID card electronic chip by means of smart card readers, a sufficient number of which were provided to the GPSSA by the Emirates Identity Authority.
The Emirates Identity Authority stressed its keenness on applying one of the most significant corporate excellence criteria as embodied in managing relations with strategic partners in an innovated manner, using such creative techniques that allow each party of the strategic partnership to be familiar with the best practices of the other, thereby contributing to enhancing the process of continuous learning and ensuring compliance with the requirements of government excellence and the criteria of Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award.
Meanwhile, the Emirates Identity Authority underlined its keenness on regularly reviewing the memoranda of understanding signed with its various strategic partners through the meetings held at the strategic and executive levels. This is aimed at ensuring the successful implementation of the projects, which are carried out by the Emirates Identity Authority jointly with its partners, or providing the necessary support for the projects, which are carried out by its strategic partners.
