HH Hazza bin Zayed stresses importance of development and streamlining of procedures and focusing on creation of new services

Broader base of Validation Gateway`s corporate beneficiaries is sought for development of services

The Board approves amendment to the executive regulation of PR system and ID card law and the individual registration policies and procedures manual

HH Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Emirates ID Authority, said that the Emirates ID Authority had made major strides in developing procedures and policies. The Emirates ID Authority managed to establish a single clear system for each service offered to its customers, he said. This saved a lot of time and effort on one hand and helped the Emirates ID Authority’s employees easily complete the service required on the other.

Procedure simplification has gained great attention from prestigious corporations at the international and local levels, said HH Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The simplification has great benefits for both organizations and their customers such as improving the organization’s ability to complete its projects, providing quality, efficient and effective services; shortening steps required for transaction completion and helping the employees get fully familiar with it. This would save costs, improve the quality of services provided and open the door for focusing more on new and innovative services to achieve customer satisfaction and meet their expectations.

These statements came during the fourth meeting of the Emirates ID Authority board of directors in 2016 held in the Crown Prince Court of Abu Dhabi in presence of HE Saqr Ghobash, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratization, HE Ahmed Mohammed Al Humairi, Secretary General of the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, HE Eng. Mohammed Ahmed Al Shehhi, Undersecretary for Economic Affairs in the UAE Ministry of Economy of, HE Staff Major General Eisa Saif Al Mazrouei, Deputy Chief of Staff of UAE Armed Forces, HE Abdullah Saif Al Nuaimi, H.E. Major General Dr. Nasser Salem Lakhraibani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and HE General Awad bin Hader bin Amer Al Muhairi, in addition to HE Dr. Saeed Abdullah bin Mutlaq Al Ghafli, the Director General of Emirates ID Authority.

The Emirates ID Authority set an example in excellent service provision according to the highest quality levels, helping the customers obtain the service they need with the least time and effort, HH Sheikh Hazza said. The officials and employees are responsible for maintaining this excellence and the great effort to develop and improve the service provision channels and mechanisms according to the best international specifications in order to add them to the experiences, expertise and programs applied in the UAE such as Emirates Government Services Excellence Program and Global Star Rating Program for Service, he said.

HH Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed his confidence in the Emirates ID Authority`s ability to develop the service efficiency standards continuously, achieve the best levels, apply the best international practices in customer service to achieve the highest satisfaction rates and continue its efforts to achieve leadership in excellence and keep pace with the visionary leadership instructions to improve the government operation to be an example to follow worldwide.

HH Sheikh Hazza paid attention to importance of development of the electronic and smart services provided by the Emirates ID Authority whether for corporations or individuals, focusing on innovation of new services and maximizing the efforts to enable the UAE institutions to rely on the database it has in building its plans and strategies and directing its resources. The Emirates ID Authority should also support the e-transformation projects and harness the e-ID management system to enable the e-Government projects, expanding the scope of the initiatives of linking service to the smart ID cards.

HH Sheikh stressed the importance of the Validation Gateway project executed by the Emirates ID Authority given its advanced services it provides. These services include obtaining the e-services that require the use of ID card for identification, providing a mechanism that helps the institutions to provide services via mobile phones and devices, and verification of the identity of cardholders via electronic networks as well as protecting and securing online transactions. This gives more importance to the expansion of the beneficiary base at the level of public and private entities and consolidation of the mutual cooperation between the Emirates ID Authority and the e-governments across the UAE to develop an integrated smart governmental service system.

During the meeting, the Board was briefed by HE Dr. Saeed Abdullah bin Mutlaq Al Ghafli on the updates introduced to the individual registration policies and procedures that would constitute a comprehensive reference for the procedures to be followed in providing customer services as well as the documentation required to obtain each service and the mechanisms that enable the Emirates ID Authority to complete the transactions according to the best standards.

The Board approved the amendment to the executive regulation of the Law No. 9 of 2006 concerning the Population Register and ID Card.

The Board also approved the tenth version of the manual of individual registration policies and procedures. It reviewed a report on the rate of execution of the Emirates ID Authority budget of 2016 until the sixth of December. It also reviewed the quality of fingerprints, the annual report of the executive committee meeting, discussing several items on the agenda and making the appropriate decision on them.
