Eng. Ali Mohamed Al-Khouri, EIDA Director General, stressed that EIDA’s eagerness to develop its human resources and keenness on moving forward in the development process of its human capital is a main part of EIDA Strategy 2010-2013 and an important element of its intellectual system dealing with human resources as both objective and means of the development process.
In a working paper presented by him in the opening session of “Best Practices in Human Resources Investment” Forum, which kicked off in Dubai today (Tuesday), Eng. Al-Khouri stated that EIDA’s strategic thought and strategic plans are inspired by UAE Vision 2021. The vision reflects the clear and wise vision of our leaders and embodies the government’s strive towards executing development plans across the state with the aim to enhance the UAE’s regional and international standing so that it may be among the best countries in the world.
In his paper, Eng. Al-Khouri illustrated a number of key methodologies and driving factors that EIDA relies upon in its development plans and projects, by interpreting facts, speculating the future and dealing with updated and modern standards in how to build and develop human resources. By doing so, EIDA aims to enhance the abilities of its employees, develop their skills and furnish them with modern knowledge. This should reflect positively on general performance at EIDA.
Eng. Al-Khouri stressed EIDA’s keenness to make all projects and initiatives included in its strategy realistic and applicable within a set timeframe. By that, EIDA can ultimately achieve its vision, turn its mission into reality and reach the biggest number of its set goals.
He added that EIDA started developing an integrated study and five-year strategic plan with clear features aiming at enabling all its employees to be college graduates over the next five years by providing them with continuing education opportunities for bachelor, master’s or doctoral degrees according to specified controls and clear criteria.
Al-Khouri indicated that this initiative announced today by EIDA reflects keenness of higher management at EIDA to conform to the UAE Vision 2021 and its trust in the ability of wise leadership to provide its pure crystal vision with all opportunities for success. This puts more obligations and responsibilities upon all administrative leaders in various government institutions and agencies to carry out their executive role in contributing to achievement of the leadership vision and goals.
Dr. Al-Khouri stressed that the development of human capital is the cornerstone of the vision chartered and pursued by EIDA by proceeding in its journey towards excellence, so that EIDA may become one of the best institutional service systems across the state over the next three years.
He added that the results and statistics achieved by EIDA indicate that it is moving forward with confident and ambitious steps towards achieving its strategic goals and developing its performance. He expressed his satisfaction at the range of systems built and developed by EIDA so far including the performance management system, training and development system, performance development feedback systems among others.
