The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security, represented by the General Administration of Customs, held the third meeting of the Directors General of Customs in the country for the year 2022, in coordination with Ras Al Khaimah Customs, at the top of Jebel Jais in the emirate.
During the meeting, the Directors General of Customs discussed many important issues and developments in customs work on the agenda of the country’s customs sector, including the classification and unification of national lists of hazardous materials, and the commercial and economic implications of the comprehensive economic free trade agreements between the UAE and trading partners, as well as the efforts of the customs sector in both its federal and local aspects in the implementation of the Etihad Train project, and areas of cooperation with the Etihad Rail Company. They also discussed customs exemptions for national industry, customs treatment for exporting industrial waste, and ways of cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology in this field.
The meeting was chaired by His Excellency Ahmed Abdullah bin Lahej Al Falasi, Director General of Customs at the Authority, in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Head of Ajman Port and Customs Department, Rashid Lahej Al Mansouri, Director General of the General Administration of Abu Dhabi Customs, Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director General of Dubai Customs Department, and Mohammed Mir Abdul Rahman Al Sarrah, Director of Ports and Customs at the Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Mahrezi, Director General of Ras Al Khaimah Customs, Rashid Saif Hammad, Director General of Fujairah Customs, and Sultan Al Ali, Executive Director of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation in the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain.
The meeting was also attended by His Excellency Abdullah Al Shamsi, Assistant Undersecretary for the Industrial Development Sector at the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, His Excellency Juma Muhammad Al Kait, Assistant Undersecretary for the Commercial Development Sector at the Ministry of Economy, His Excellency Alia Muhammad Al Marmoum, Executive Director of Customs Affairs, Mr. Tariq Al Falahi, Director of Commercial Affairs at Etihad Rail, and several directors of departments at the General Administration of Customs at the Authority and the participating entities.
