H.E. Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al Khouri, Emirates ID Director General, has reiterated his call for the members of the Corporate Governance Committee at the Emirates Identity Authority to double efforts to familiarize all the departments, sections and centers with the concepts of corporate governance.
During the regular meeting of the committee which was held under his chairmanship at the head office of the Emirates Identity Authority in Abu Dhabi, Al Khouri underscored the importance of increasing the awareness of the Emirates Identity Authority’s employees of the objectives and requirements of corporate governance as well as its importance for reducing the operating costs of all the Emirates Identity Authority’s operations through the ongoing endeavor to rationalize spending.
Al Khouri stressed the necessity for tracking the documentary work cycle through the enterprise resource planning, fixing a deadline for transactions to be kept in each department, knowing the reasons for delay and suggesting the appropriate solutions and the procedures that should be taken in each case.
The committee reviewed a number of financial reports that showed the current status of the final statements of account, the development of the financial performance at the Emirates Identity Authority between 2009 and 2011 and the progress achieved by the Emirates Identity Authority in reducing the production costs of ID cards following the successful implementation of a number of strategic initiatives and projects.
The meeting also discussed a number of agenda items for which the appropriate decisions and recommendations were made.
