An official delegation from the Republic of Indonesia visited the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security, today, Tuesday (March, 07, 2023), with the aim of enhancing cooperation between the two friendly countries in various fields of work.
The delegation was received by Major General Saeed Salem Al Shamsi, Executive Director of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Abu Dhabi, along with several officials at the Authority, while the Indonesian delegation included His Excellency Husin Bagis, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the country, and His Excellency Selmy Karim, Director General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.
During the visit, the Indonesian delegation was briefed on the advanced smart services system provided by the Authority, the most prominent of which the visa issuance system and electronic services. The visiting delegation was also able learned about the smart travel system through the smart gates at Abu Dhabi International Airport as well as the operational processes for issuing visas and the facilities provided by the Authority to customers in this field and the channels for providing electronic and smart services, and other services that are made available and processed according to quality and efficiency standards.
His Excellency Major General Saeed Salem Al Shamsi said that the UAE’s experience in providing services for Identity, Citizenship, Residency and Foreign affairs is distinguished regionally and internationally by leadership in terms of quality, ease of access and speed of obtaining services with simple and easy procedures suitable for all nationalities, which encourages many countries to strengthen partnership and cooperation with the Authority in this domain.
His Excellency added: “The UAE and the Republic of Indonesia have deep rooted historical relations, and the leadership of the two countries are keen to enhance cooperation in all fields. Today, we are pleased to receive the delegation of the Republic of Indonesia to enhance cooperation and joint coordination in the field of Identity, Residence and Foreigner’s affairs, and move it to better levels that achieve the aspirations of the peoples of the two countries and support the desired economic development.”
During the visit, the Indonesian delegation reiterated the importance of the strategic partnership with the Authority, pointing out that the system of smart services provided by the authority is characterized by proactivity, flexibility, innovation and a high ability to benefit from technology to improve the quality of life of society and meet the aspirations of customers.
