H.E. Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al Khouri, Emirates ID Director General, has named “Al Suqoor” the champion of the football sevens competition, which was organized by the Emirates Identity Authority.
In the final match held in Zayed Sports City, “Al Suqoor” pounded “Manchester City” 4-1 with both teams playing a strong match.
Al Suqoor’s win was the culmination of the consistent performance shown by the team throughout the matches of the tournament in which the team was armed with the necessary expertise and skill.
The team players were distinguished for playing confidently and calmly and for their discipline in the playground, not to mention their ability to read their rivals excellently.
In the match held to decide the third and fourth winners, “Al Qada” (Leaders) defeated “Blugrana” 4-2. Sportsmanship marked such type of matches held by the two losers in the semi-final matches.
On the sidelines of the closing day of the Ramadan tournament, Al Khouri honored Mr. Ahmed Saeed Al Kaabi, Technological Services Technician, Emirates Identity Authority, on the occasion of coming in the first place in the “Professions in Artist’s Eyes Photography Competition, which was organized by the Department of Culture and Information as part of “Ramadan Ajman Taqwa Wa Iman” activities.

- All the attempts made by the players of the teams participating in the tournament failed to persuade H.E. Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al Khouri, Emirates ID Director General, to announce his favorite team, which he wished to win the cup, noting that Al Khouri lived in Manchester City and resumed his higher studies in its famous university!
- Manchester City accepted loss with high sportsmanship and the happiest team about Manchester City’s loss was Real Madrid, which left the tournament from the preliminary round.
- The matches unveiled a number of talented footballers among the Emirates Identity Authority’s employees, who had missed the train of professionalism in football. These talents were gained by the Emirates Identity Authority-affiliated departments and registration centers.
- There were a reasonably large number of people who saw the matches of the tournament, particularly on its closing day. They interacted zealously with the matches and their encouragement was marked by sportsmanship.
- 4 iPads were distributed to the audience in a raffle on the final day of the tournament.
- The sports activities committee at the Emirates Identity Authority (Mohamed Al Harthy, Abdul Aziz Al Maamari, Mohamed Al Aghbari, Ali Mohamed Al Hammadi, Yaqoub Al Hammadi and Abdullah Tahnoun) was the fruit of the tournament. The committee should be thanked and appreciated for its diligent efforts and keenness to meet all the conditions that contributed to the success of the tournament.
- Alarm to “Al Suqoor” team: Barcelona is the surprise team to which the organizing committee extended an invitation for participation in next year tournament 2012, God willing.
