Commending the Decision of Opening to the Public
A delegation from the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) visited “Qasr Al Watan”, a cultural landmark housed within the Presidential Palace compound in Abu Dhabi. It is one of the few presidential compounds in the world, which opens its doors to the public.
The delegation took a tour in the palace and got to know about its different halls and rooms. It took a glimpse at its establishments that reflect UAE civilization and the progress and development it has achieved. The delegation was given a detailed explanation of this icon that constitutes a valuable piece of art, reflecting the UAE path of progress and prosperity. Besides, it expresses the wise leadership and people’s keenness on enriching human civilization and effectively contributing to adding new landmarks. It also enhances knowledge exchange among civilizations and peoples all over the world.
The delegation, chaired by Major General Saeed Rakan Al Rashidi, Acting Director-General of Foreigners Affairs and Ports at ICA, attended a presentation by Faisal Al Nuaimi, Director General of The Palace. Al Nuaimi explained the idea behind Qasr Al Watan construction and design, which reflect UAE historical heritage. He also stressed the arts and technologies employed in its construction, as well as the departments it includes, the most significant of which is the library that reflects UAE Vision 2021, based on strengthening the economy of knowledge to further promote the development and its sustainability through the investment in the minds of the people and human resources. The library provides the most elevated knowledge resources with the most updated means and technologies.
The delegation visited Al Barza Hall, which reflects the way the Ruler communicates with his people. It is considered the majlis, where the traditional Ruler sits with his people, discusses their problems and concerns, and works on finding solutions.
This hall represents a uniquely modern way that takes visitors into the traditional atmosphere of Al Barza to get to know its importance and major role in reproaching between UAE peoples through ages.
Al Rashidi commended the wise leadership guidance and valued the government decided to open this national landmark to the citizens, residents, and tourists, to be a new and key pillar in UAE innovation and glamour. He further noted that it constitutes wealth in terms of art, architecture, knowledge, and heritage, crystalizing the path of nation-building and a renaissance. It carves in its visitors’ minds an idea about the ability of this land and its people to overcome the mundane and provide significant valuable contributions to the human civilization.
